  2023 has been a successful year for M Data; several live performance gigs, independent label and self released tracks, remixes, live shows, radio show hosting, new music projects, and co-founding of an up-and-coming regular live event have made this a year of opportunity.
  
  Despite a busy schedule, development of his signature live set has continued, exploring live performance techno further than ever before.
  
  The “Machinefunk E.P.” consists of 4 tracks taken from his longest, most recent, on-the-fly, one-take, semi-improvised recording so far.
  
  “With the E.P. I wanted to offer something that explored further than previous works, still retaining classic aspects of techno, keeping it light and transitional in places, melodic, with an added element of funk; the contrasting deep, dark, minimal purist elements and progressive minimalism of “Tunnel”; distorted rawness versus more uplifting, high energy aspects of “Escalate”; the futuristic, dystopian urgency and intensity of “Geiger”; the electro feel and almost-mechanical analog groove of “Machinefunk”.
  
  With the E.P. I really wanted to capture a balance, delivering elements of minimalistic, atmospheric, and more-chaotic improvised styles, alongside a hard-funk, energetic, electronic edge.
  
  The live set, at 2 hours and 30 minutes, is a culmination of the previous 2 years' thoughts, ideas, reflections, and experiences of the live sets performed to date; the idea was to develop learnings and construct an entirely new set from scratch, with a desire for more continual, organic transitioning and evolution through spatial, minimal, techfunk, incorporating machine-like electro and house, with more contrasting melodic, dark, ethereal elements, taking the listener on a wider journey from beginning to end.
